It is one of fourteen tapestries illustrating the wars of Louis XIV, called l'Histoire du Roi, or the Story of the King, woven at the Gobelins during the second half of the 17th century. This fine art tapestry is a small extract with added border is a depiction of when Lille was taken over by the Spanish on the 28th of august 1667.
